RYAA Baseball/Teeball 2026

RYAA Baseball & Teeball Program Information – 2026 Season

The Rochester Youth Athletic Association (RYAA) offers Boys Baseball and Co-Ed Teeball programs designed to provide a fun, safe, and competitive environment for players of all skill levels. Our program focuses on player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game.

Registration Information

Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes March 1, 2026.

Players registered after February 15, 2026 will be subject to a late fee.

Players must meet age requirements. Any player found to be under the minimum age will be removed from the program. We cannot allow players outside the age restrictions due to insurance liability.

Age Requirement

Players must turn 5 years old before September 1, 2026.

Divisions Offered

Teeball: Ages 5–6
8U: Ages 8 and under
10U: Ages 10 and under
12U: Ages 12 and under
14U: Ages 14 and under

Season Timeline

Practices begin in April
Games are played in May and June

Game Locations

Teeball: Games are held in Rochester and Mechanicsburg
8U: Games are held in Rochester against other RYAA teams
10U & 12U: Participate in a local league with games in Rochester, Tri-City, Williamsville, Springfield, Athens, Taylorville, and surrounding communities. Historically, over half of these games are played in Rochester.
14U: Participates in the SSBA (Southwest Springfield Baseball Association) league. Games are played at Rotary and Centennial Park in Springfield.

Equipment and Uniforms

Each player is required to provide:

A personal baseball glove
Baseball pants
Cleats
Belt
Socks

RYAA will provide:

Bats
Balls
Helmets
Catcher’s gear and other shared equipment

Each registered player will receive:

One jersey
One hat

Playing Up a Division

In certain situations, players may be considered to “play up” a division (for example, a 6-year-old with prior Teeball experience wishing to play 8U coach pitch). Playing up will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure player safety, development, and a positive experience for all participants.

If you are unable to register your player for your desired division, please contact the Baseball Program Coordinator.

Coach and Teammate Requests

Players may request a specific coach and/or teammate during registration. Every effort is made to honor these requests, and in past seasons most have been accommodated. However, teams are created to ensure competitive balance based on age, years of experience, and whether players are also participating in RYAA soccer to avoid practice and game conflicts.

If a request would create an age or experience imbalance, adjustments may be necessary to maintain fair and balanced teams in our recreational league.

Requests submitted after the late registration deadline of February 15 may not be considered.

2026 PeeWee Soccer

Divisions:

4U - Ages 3-4 (games held on Tuesday’s)
6U - Ages 5-6 (games held on Thursday’s)
8U - Ages 7-8 (games held on Wednesday’s)

Requirements:

Players must wear shin guards for all practices and games.
Cleats are optional, but are recommended.
Players will need to have a #3 soccer ball.

All players will receive a team shirt.

Games:

Will be held at the Rochester Park soccer fields.
Practices will start around 5:45 pm, and games begin around 6:00 pm.
4U will play (4) seven-minute quarters.
6U and 8U will play (4) 10-minute quarters.

Coaches

The RYAA Soccer league always needs coaches. You do not need to have any knowledge of the rules of soccer; just have a heart for children.

All the coach needs to do is occasionally send out an email to their team, set up snacks for after games (if that is something you want to do), and be at the soccer field to help guide the players to the goal.

As teams are formed, and if there are not enough coaches, the Soccer Coordinator will send out an email to all the parents asking for volunteers. If no one volunteers, the Soccer Coordinator will send a message out to the team that does not have a coach and have them decide amongst themselves who will be the coach.

Spring Registration:

Starts on January 15th and ends March 15th.
A late registration fee of $20 is added after March 1st.
Games start the first week of April and play through mid-May.

Note: the Spring soccer overlaps with the beginning of T-ball. We do everything we can to accommodate players signing up for T-ball.

Fall Registration:

Starts on July 1st and ends August 15th.
A late registration fee of $20 is added after August 1st.
Games start the first week of September and play through mid-October.

RYAA Softball 2026

Divisions:

8U (ages 8 and under)

Registration starts January 11 st and March 1. Late fee of $20 is added after February 15th.

While we do try to accommodate team requests, they cannot be guaranteed.

Team requests will NOT be considered during the late registration period.

Practices start in April, games are played in May and June. All practices are in Rochester Community Park.

Softball plays in the Riverton league, games are played in Rochester, Riverton, Ashland, Petersburg, Athens.

All players should have their own glove. Bats, balls, and other equipment will be provided.

All players will receive a team shirt.

2026 Basketball Blastoff Spirit Squad

The Basketball Blastoff Cheer Squad is a cheer clinic for students currently in kindergarten through 3rd grade. The clinic will meet once a week for three weeks where participants will be taught a floor cheer, stunts, and a dance. They will showcase their skills at an RYAA basketball game to be announced. Participants will receive a t-shirt.

Registration is open 01/12/2026 - 2/3/2026 and is $30. Practice will be at the Rochester Christian Church from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on 02/7, 2/14, and 2/21. The date and time of the performance will be announced at the first practice.
